From the Bed to the Basin: Crossing the Threshold into the Next Hour
As the first hour of the day comes to a close, you have stretched, remembered, and whispered your way back into presence. The room still holds your scent; and the bed carries the imprint of your dreaming body. And now, You cross the threshold into the next sacred space: the bathroom.
Here, water becomes your guide.
Here, you do not "get ready"—you return to your body.
You anoint, rinse, smooth, and soften. You light a candle, draw breath, and meet your reflection not with critique, but with curiosity and kindness. Who will you be today?
This is the 8 A.M. hour.
The Hours: 8 A.M. – The Bathroom
A Ritual of Cleansing, Embodiment & Sensory Awakening
The 8 A.M. hour is spent reacquainting yourself with your body.
Here, the sacred becomes tactile. Soap and oil, breath and steam, warmth and reflection—this hour is not about rushing to be presentable. It is about becoming embodied. You are not preparing for the day. You are anointing yourself with the promise it holds.
Think then of the bathroom as a modern temple—a space to pour water over worry, to smooth oil over old stories, to see yourself fully before you step into the world. The wild woman meets the vintage goddess here. The herbalist meets the self-tending artist. Let this be a quiet reclaiming.
